Default NA tail lights into an NC2

I've got an NC2. Sadly I'm a bit late (3 years DOH) after the original post on imgur and reddit BUT - I've just seen this pic and I'm really keen to copy it...
https://www.reddit.com/r/Miata/comme...ghts_on_an_nc/

Some love the NC2 tails but I'm not really a fan. I've read NC1 tails don't fit perfectly but and I'm hoping SOMEONE will have some experience doing the NA into NC tail light conversion?

And I've got a million questions, there's not a lot of info on the original poster...Cola571 '09 2.5L TurboThey are just the NA lenses which are trimmed slightly and replace the clear lens on the NC tail light. The rest of the tail light innards is still NC, just the lens changed.
So I'm wondering....

- looking at the grill on here, https://imgur.com/a/QCbfI is the car an NC3?

- I'm guessing the original lights were NC2 tail lights (I'm guessing they were on the NC3?)?

- I'm also guessing NC1 backing has been used for those NA lenses?

- is that an NC1 or NC2 rear bumper?

- would the NA backing cases be of any use or just not reqd?

- the NA lens looks complete in the pic, what has to be done to get the lens to fit?

- I guess an oven is reqd to separate and rejoin the lenses?

- is there an easier way to do it??

Thanks a lot, any info is appreciated!

Eric
