MX-5 oil leak
Hi guys wonder if someone can give me some advice.
I have a 2005 MX-5(miata) 1.8.
For a while now I have had a small oil leak The problem is nobody cAN NAIL the source. It has been to my local mechanic and a mazda main dealer. Both suspected the rocker cover gasket but 2 new ones and still the problem. The oil is trickling down from the top of the engine at the front and onto the sump then obviously the tray.
I can trace the oil up as far as the main block at the very front of the engine there a black plastic covering that is connected with the rocker cover gasket behind this there is moisture(oil)
What is this black cover hiding and is it oil filled.
Thanks
I am subjected to driving around in the MRS honda cars at the moment

Sounds like a cam seal leak. The timing belt is behind the cover. There is also a crankshaft seal behind the timing belt. If that is the leak and your repair shop can't find it i would suggest a new shop as that is very common on any car with a timing belt.
