I just purchased a pair of 3.5" rockford fosgate speakers from best buy for $70.00 a pair. These are 2 way speakers that sound much better than my torn stock ones. These will fit in the stock location without much modification, though you may have to remove some foam from the stock mount.

i would recommend just doing away with the headrest speakers and move the system in a different direction. i am yet to hear a set of headrest speakers that were phenomenal for less than a couple hundred bucks and you could do a lot more with that moneythan just two speakers. i'm not trying to be rude, just trying to save you a lot of time and money.
