Default Grinding noise on 93 miata....

I have a 93 Miata and im getting this loud rattling noise, it seems like its coming from front driver side wheel.. Was wondering if anybody had exp. with this kind of noise before and what cause it?

I'm also changing the front brake pads, its grinding a little.. Could this be causing it? Ohh, also i have no previous exp. with changing the brake pads, am just fallowing the Haynes repair manual, any add. advice or info be appreciated.. Thanks

Check your CV joint; if the neoprene boot has split it will lose all its lubricant and will have to be replaced. It could also be brake, in which case you'd better make sure the rotor is not all chewed up, otherwise you're wasting money on new brake pads.
Also check the not so obvious; I was once all psyched up to do a major overhaul on an old Volvo because of an ominous clicking sound seemingly from the rear drive train.
When I popped one of the hub caps, a beach pebble fell out! End of problem.
