Front end 'clicking' sounds...
A friend has a new '06 MX-5 with about 1500 miles on it now... it started making some light, repetitive (as in constant rotation), clicking sounds from the front end when making slow turns left or right. I tried finding the source from outside the car as he drove slowly in circles - seems to eminate from the center/front end. He took the car to the dealer yesterday and they said it's normal (??). They did confirm hearing the noise. They mentioned that they tried another MX-5 on the lot and it did the same thing. So, nothing was done.
Anybody experience similar issues? We don't have a rack, but can get the car up high enough to probe the steering angles and see if we can find anything bent or binding - but, I wanted to test the waters of this forum and see if anybody has a best guess before we go for it.
thanks for any comments, anecdotes or short stories you can share,
kj

RE: Front end 'clicking' sounds...
could just be the stock bushings somewhere in the steering. shouldn't be much to worry about if that is it. sorry i can't be of more help, but i think that is all that it is.
