EGR Valve
2000 Miata
Need some help?! Check engine light is on and the diagnostic tool says that the EGR valve is clogged. Issue is that three parts warehouses have each told me that on the 2000 Miata, there is no EGR valve in the parts list. The symptoms are right (decreased performance until everything warms up, etc.) so I'm pretty sure that the problem is the EGR valve but I'm wondering if Mazda lists it as another part. Any ideas on this one?

Hi Scot...If your model is what we in the UK call the Mk-2.5 or facelift NB Mk-2 (built in headrests, double din radio, built in fog lights) then your dealer would be wrong in saying you don't have the EGR Valve. I did have the EGR on my own 98 NB Mk-2 but did away with it in order to fit a new header pipe, this has had no ill effect on the running of the car.
