Default cold air intake

Anyone have an opinion about the AEM cold air intake 9for a NB series mx-5)? The stock housing really looks closed up and restrictive. I don't expect any measurable power gain, but it just seems like the engine will be happier.

The NB intake is A) a cold air intake, and B) more than opened up enough for the engine in the car. The only "benefits" provided by aftermarket intakes are more noise from the engine and more dirt into the engine.
