I have a 2014 CX9 AWD with 195k miles on it. I had AWD issues, determined the transfer case was the problem. Today, I pulled the transfer case, and the splines are destroyed on the transfer case. My concern is damage to the splines on the transmission. They aren't great, but can I go with it? Is it possible to replace the carrier in the transmission? What is involved in that? Am I better off replacing the transmission? Should I put the transfer case in and roll the dice?
