I'm looking to buy a new CX-9, however, everyone coming in or on the lots have the roof rack installed. The dealer cannot tell me if it can be removed. Please let me know if anyone out there knows.

Yes, they can be removed relatively easily. You can look at the instructions for mounting the rails to figure out how to remove them.

However, there are six plastic caps that cover the mounting holes. You will need to find out if your dealer can order these.
