Hello all!!

New to the forum and new to Mazda, at least my vehicle, wifey drives a 5.

Just bought a 2016 CX-9 Touring with electronics package. LOVE IT!!

I negotiated an aftermarket remote start and had the dealer install it: actually the dealer hired another company to install it - did not want to void any warranty or point fingers if something goes wrong. Also didn't want the Mazda Start: cant wait up to 10 minutes for the car to start!!

Anyways, i spoke with the installer, great company, and was told that with push to start, they cannot prevent the car engine from stopping once the doors open.

Is this true? It kinda defeats the purpose of remote start if it shuts off when you get in let alone significantly reduces the life of the car starter.

Is there any workaround this?

 

Viper makes a system now that has a handoff. works like a charm now.
