Problem with 08 cx9 please help!
Sorry for not posting a intro to myself but this is very important. So my dads cx9 has had a lot less power then it was when he first got it. So, today he said while driving it had even less power then before. So later he added windshield wiper fluid and when he pulled out of the drive way he said his car started to sputter (and the check engine light went on) so he pulled it back into the drive way. He checked oil levels and there was literally no oil (He hasn't taken very good care of his car and he cant remember when the last time he replaced the oil was). So we went out and got 2 quarts of 5w 20 oil, used both of those, oil level was still too low (and the check engine light started blinking). Got 2 more quarts and the oil level was finally good. But the check engine light is still on (not blinking) when he revs the car it shakes. Please tell me whats wrong and what to do it will be much appreciated. Oh yea and it has 103K miles and he hasn't replaced the timing belt.

He needs to replace all the spark plugs and all the ignition coils as well as clean the throttle body, clean the MAF sensor, replace the PCV valve, clean the EGR valve.
Transmission fluid should also be changed as well as coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid.
Mazda will tell you otherwise about PCV valve, but you better change it!
I am not sure about timing belt. Ask your mazda dealer.
A blinking check engine light is a misfire which is plugs and ign coils!
