Power Steering Resevoir Capacity - 2012 CX9 Grand Touring
What is the capacity of the PS resevoir in the 2012 CX9 Grand Touring with 3.7 L engine? I'm going to do a series of partial changes and I need to know how big the reesvoir is so I can claculate the number of times I need to suck out the fluid to get 95% new fluid in the system. From what I have learned, the PS system capacity is about 1.1 qts.
One way to flush the system is to jack up the front, disconnect the fluid return line to the reservoir and route it into a container, turn the steering left & right and let it pump fluid through the system as you add fresh fluid to the reservoir. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article...-spencer-cates
Consider adding a 1/2" size in-line transmission fluid filter in the return line. Every hydraulic system, including power steering systems absolutely need clean hydraulic fluid.
I have had very good results with Lubegard power steering products. The Protectant made an immediate improvement to my system in a Tundra.

OK, I finally sucked out the fluid from the PS resevoir. If I read the cup right there's 8 ounces of PS fluid in the resevoir. But now I need to verify the volume of PS in the PS system. I read somewhere that it is 1.1 quarts. Is that right?
And, unless ABSOLUTELY. NECESSARY, do NOT starting clowning around with the hoses and fittings. That way leads to great sorrow, rending of clothes and gnashing of teeth. (At least it has for this clown).
