Perspective buyer with questions
Gentlepeople,
I’m looking to replace my wife’s 2002 Tribute with a CX-9 but have some questions.
I assume most people are like me and only post when I have an issue with a car. I know people are having issues with the Nav system and there have been some tire issues. Is this a case of some lemons in the fleet or is this a systemic problem.
I have a specific question on the headrest. Can the tilt be adjusted? On the ones we saw on the lot the headrest had an extreme forward tilt and didn’t sit flush with the seat like other vehicles. This is my wife’s one hold up. The headrest sits right on her ponytail and is annoying when she is driving. When I’m driving she is usually asleep and the head rest wouldn’t be very comfortable to lay against.
I tried to ask the salesman but he was worthless. He could barely open the hood, then alone answer questions.
Thanks, Jaysen

First,
Issue with NAV is that it's not user friendly, and graphics are lower than hand-helds, but its reliable and works very well. You'll get used to it.
2nd, not sure of any tire issues. I'm on 2 other CX-9 message boards and am not aware of "tire issues" other than they are expensive to replace and do not do well in snow.
For safety reasons, the head-rests do lean forward of the seat to prevent neck backlash. My recommendation is that you bring your wife to the dealer and actually sit her in the driver or passenger seat and find out for herself. Only she can tell you if it's comfortable or not on her head. No one here on the message board.

Thanks for the reply.
She has been in hte CX-9 and the head rest bothers her, I was hoping they were adjustable. I know she'll get used to it but I hate to make a big purchase with a feature we'll have to get used to.
