New to me 2011 CX-9
Hi
I recently bought a used cx-9 for my son for college. Before I hand it off to him, I've been driving it daily to note any issues that need to be taken care of which has been minor stuff so far. The condition of it overall is really good despite 200+k miles and a consistent service record history by the previous fowner. The only prior service issue that stood out was the transmission was replaced around 150k miles.
My concerns are what are the reliability issues for this particular generation of the cx-9 and how much of it is based on the Ford Flex platform? I've read mazda built the engine but the drive train is ford. I don't expect it to last forever but the plan is to get at least 3 to 4 more daily driver years out of it barring a catastrophic mechanical failure of some sort.
On a side note, it's very much a fun to drive car and I was surprised by that to the point where I've added it to my list of cars to consider for a future purchase.
Thanks in advance for feedback...

It's a Ford drivetrain, and the platform is shared with the EDGE/Lincoln MKX, not the FLEX/MKT/Explorer/MKS/Taurus. The 3.7 V6 is the same one used in the Lincolns.
I'm probably buying a 2008 Touring with a little over 180k miles, but the engine was just replaced with one out of a 2010/11 Lincoln MKS, due to a timing chain failure.
My advice would be to have all fluids changed with proper-spec fluids, especially the transmission and transfer case (PTU in Ford speak).
There are resources online to obtain a low cost CarFax report (I buy them for $6). I'd recommend doing so to get a better idea of the maintenance history.
