GT w/ Remote start question
Anyone here have a GT with Remote start? Mine will be installed soon.. when I picked up the car.. the part was not available.
Doesthe smartkey still work.
How far does it work?
Do you loose anything when you have the remote start?
How big is the remote starter remote?

RE: GT w/ Remote start question
if it is like the remote starter for the mazda3, which i am sure it is, it gives you many more features. When you can see the car clearly it will work at about 400' but when it is obstructed by walls it is more like 100 - 200'. The remote starter even lets you turn the defroster on and off by pushing the start button a second time. It's really cool!!

RE: GT w/ Remote start question
The remote start works about 250 yards direct site. The smartkey still works, but you need to use the remote start fob to unlock the doors. Once inside, you have to turn the fake key before moving from park or it will stop. Mine also times out and stops if the fake key is not turned.

Waht do you mean by "fake key"....
"Once inside, you have to turn the fake key before moving from park or it will stop. Mine also times out and stops if the fake key is not turned".
I am going to buy a CX-9 and I am intersted in the remote starter....it is dealer installed option correct?..

RE: GT w/ Remote start question
My remote start works great. It would be better if it was a button on the SMART key, though. It did take some reading to learn how to use it properly.. Like an idiot I was pushing the button and the car started beeping.. turns out that I was activating the "car find" feature and that the button needs to be pressed twice in a row.
