Default Front end knocking sound on 2016 Cx-9 GT

First post, but thought I would reach out to see if anyone has had any issues with front end knocks on their 2016's? Dealership said it's a bad bushing, but also said they've had to replace the entire strut assembly on some. I'm glad they are taking care of it, but not glad the car is less than 2 months old and having this issue.

Following up on this. My dealer has replaced basically the entire strut assembly on the drivers side and now passenger side is making the same noise. Just a heads up, they told me it's a "known issue" and there are updated parts to correct the problem.

Are there safety ramifications? i.e. recall?

They have told me no, but any noise that was that loud is obviously a defective part and in my opinion would not last as long as a non-defective part. I feel that's rational thinking. I'm going to take the car on a road trip next week so not too concerned, but when I get back they are going to fix it.

As with most dealers, they have told me that they need to hear it in order for Mazda to cover it. My service manager is being nice, but I've already reamed them for driving my car excessively fast. MPG before fix 15.9. MPG after fix 12.7. I revoked their "driving my car without me in it privileges".

15.9 MPG, why so low? I'm getting 20.5 and thats 80% in traffic.

My wife drives less than 8 miles a day. I also have a bit of a heavy foot. However I can't ever see getting 20mpg in traffic.
