Post failed firmware update on CMU, bricked?

So I decided to get a carplay retrofit, in which it was required to update the system to v 70.xx.xxx

this is on CX-9 2018.

the version of the mazda before was 59.00.351(? not sure exactly), in NA.

the instructions provided prompted me to update to version 70.00.100A first as intermediate,

failsafe was successfully installed (forgot to get both failsafe and reinstall pkg on one stick) and after moving the actual reinstall to the usb stick and trying to update, it failed on around 54%.

Currently the screen just prompts to plug the stick with the file and system will try to reinstall, when I try to do that with the same file (redownloaded & formated stick couple times) nothing new happens, fails on 54%.

am I cooked? do I need to follow that one video of unbricking the CMU?
