Default 2018 Cx 9 dent between windows on pillars

I just bought a 2018 cx9 and noticed dents between the windows on the window pillars. They appear to be where the pillars are fastened to the windows and to be a factory defect? Anyone else see this?

How is the other side of your car? My '16 has no such depressions. I think you have a warranty claim to get these replaced.

The other side has them as well. They are only noticeable if you look at them from an angle.

I bought mine used (2019 in 2020), but all 4 pillars have them. There are no dents or dings anywhere else, so unlikely hail.

I also think it's a defect from installation unless the metal is so thin that any contact makes a dent. If that's the case then even if I chose to replace them I wonder if they'd end up the same way.

That might be a manufacturing defect with the plastic trim. Mine do not have those indentations but I checked behind the door on mine for screws that might cause them to deform like that but there aren't any so they're probably mounted with adhesive.

As PTguy said, sounds like a warranty claim. 👍
