Anti-Theft system locked me out
2014 Mazda-cx9…. While driving on the highway, all of the sudden, felt like the tires locked up for a second, and then all the gages went to 0, the air stopped working, and all the displays with the exception of the clock and radio weren’t on anymore. The car was still running, but with no gauge of speed. The anti-theft light was blinking red (the lock icon with the key threw it), as if the car was suddenly stolen. I pulled off to the next exit, thinking if I inserted the physical key from the key fob, the system would recognize that the car was in fact not stolen… well, no such luck. The car will not start, the radio and everything else comes on, key fob works, but engine will not turn over. I had it towed to the dealership and today marks TWO WEEKS that they have had it. Last week, last I heard, they finally got around to looking at it and after 1.5hrs, couldn’t figure it out. Asked me for authorization to up to 5 hours of diagnostics, which will come to about $500. A week later, I’ve still heard nothing!!! How hard can it be?? Any thoughts on what to ask when I call to give my opinion? This is ridiculous.
