Here's hoping someone can shed some light on what seems to be a bizarre problem. I just brought home a CX-9 Carbon Ed. and I absolutely love it. It's been a while since I last drove a Mazda.
Anyhow, I was under the impression it came with Android Auto already but it doesn't seem so. Options under Communication only shows Apple Carplay. Nothing happens with a USB cable nor over Bluetooth. It pairs fine but that's it. I don't think there's much else to fiddle with in the settings. AA functionality has been around for some time in Mazda's lineup so I'm not quite sure why it's missing / I can't get it to work. System Software version is 11020.
Any guidance is very much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
Similar issue as you, just brought the car home a few days ago trying to figure out the Android auto...May I ask how exactly did you update to the latest software version. Thx in advance.
I had to take it to a dealer for the update. Although Android Auto has a built-in update feature, that doesn't solve the problem. The dealer however has the necessary software / tools to perform the update.
Just check the version you have installed and if it's anything less than 11022, you're eligible for that update.
Attached is a photo of the software the dealer uses to identify what you have compared to the latest available.
