Default 2021 CX-9 Parking Brake Malfunction

Hi all. This past May, my husband and I purchased a pre-owned 2021 CX-9 Carbon Edition with right at 59,000 supposed highway miles. I love my car. It has been awesome so far. Good on gas, enough room for our family, comfortable etc. Yesterday we spent the day washing, vacuuming and wiping down the inside. When I went to crank it to move it back to the carport I noticed a sort of "lagging" when it started and I got a critical malfunction message from the app and the parking brake light was on. The warning in the app said to turn the parking brake on and off several times and the light would go off but if it didn't I needed to have the vehicle inspected. Well the light went off and it cranked normally after that. This morning when I went to take kids to school, same thing happened. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if I should be expecting to fork over a small fortune to have it fixed.

I would put it in maintenance mode then back out of maintenance mode. see if that works. turn ignition on, hold the gas peddle all the way down and push the parking button down and hold. Then turn the ignition off and back on again. Usually 3 to 4 pushes of the start button. wait 3 seconds then let go of the button and the accelerator.

Here is a youtube video on how to do it.
