Have had intermittent problems with tthe screen not booting up on starting. Seems to come and go and dealer says its "normal" Nice!. On a long trip the nav screen suddenly showed a message saying roughly "you didn't buy a Nav Chip -- go buy one" Took chip out made sure it was unlocked and reinserted several times. No deal. . Did show a compass and lat/longs. The dealer their said i would have to wait for an appt but we were traveling so no. They did a "hard boot" meaning they disconnected the battery waited 10 minutes ans reconnected -- no deal no change. All other systems worked but both the dash compass display and the nav screen would dim out and in. 2 days later ( On way back) Nav suddenly came back up after i reset the mileage display!!!!. Got home and local deal tried a "software" update. Still working but irritating. Anyone else have this happen? Will the update work. For $43K car with only 22K miles this sucks
