Post 2014 Mazda CX-9 door request switch not working

Hi All,

My driver side door request switch is not working. However the passenger side is, and the key fob locks and unlocks all the doors, and so does the button on the inside of the door. Does anyone have any suggestion on what might be causing this issue? Thanks in advance!

When you say "door request switch" do you mean the door Ajar switch?

To the best of my knowledge, the door ajar switch is built into the door lock actuator assembly.

Default Mazda calls the black rubber button on the door handle a door request switch

Sorry for the confusion. Mazda calls the black rubber button on the door handle a "door request switch."

I'm trying to determine if the switch just needs replacement (and tear the door apart to get to it) or if there is a fuse I can check or if doing something like disconnecting battery cables will do anything in this case, or if there is anything related to check.

Thanks!

I understand. 1st step would be scanning for fault codes. Is it both front doors n/w or just 1 side?

Just driver side button is not working. Passenger side door button works fine.

I bought the car a couple months ago, and didn't notice that the button didn't work because I always used the key fob to lock/unlock the doors. However, one day the wife took the car out and she tried the button and it didn't work for her. I investigated and only the driver side door button didn't work.

You could pop the door card off and make sure it's plugged in. Otherwise book it in for fault code scan.
