Default 2012 CX9 Grand Touring - Oil change interval
Whats the logic behind the 4 month oil change interval if the mileage interval is not reached? Seems way too soon. Are they afraid of decomposition and/or contaminants?

Who is recommending 4 month oil changes?

In my market it is 10,000kms (6,000 miles ) or 12 months.

I should have been more specific. That’s the interval for severe duty, schedule 2 service. I guess it breaks down the oil faster and therefore Mazda wants a 4 month change.

It mostly comes down to increased stress & strain.
