Default 2012 CX-9 Sport Noise is drivers front

I have a CX-9 Sport with 55k miles. We have owned for about 3000 miles now. It just started making a noise in the drivers side front(we think) that sounds like 2 rods hitting each other when you take off in drive. I had it up on the ramps today and don't see anything noticeably loose or that would make that kind of noise.

We have noticed a slight grabbing in the brakes and I will be replacing the front brakes this weekend. Not sure if it could be related?

While I was looking at this I decided to check fluids since oil change is near. I am unable to pull out the oil dipstick, it will turn in full circles, but will not pull out.

Any ideas on either of these?

Thank you,

Steve

Since you just recently purchased your CX-9, call your local dealer to find out if the recall for the lower control arms has been completed. This may or may not be the cause of your noise. If it hasn't, they can take a look for your concern while they are in there.

Is your CX-9 FWD or AWD?

Can't really tell by your description of the noise but I once experienced a metallic rattle type sound coming from the driver's side under the hood upon take off. Discovered one of the tie-downs for the battery was loose. Battery had recently been changed. Tightened the nut and sound went away. I wonder if they had just changed the battery in yours?
