Have a 2009 CX9 Grand Touring. Vehicle has only travelled 100,000km and serviced at Mazda since new. New battery installed in June 2020. Recently had an issue where car started ok, was driven for about 20 minutes and was then being parked in garage. Engine was then turned off and upon realising it needed to be moved further into garage attempts were made to restart only about 5-10 seconds after first being turned off. Key turned, dashboard lights displayed as usual but engine would not crank / turn over. Left the vehicle overnight and tried it again in the morning and it started first time. Any ideas ??

 

Are you sure the gear was in park? If the gear is not all the way in park it will not crank.
