Can you order one?
I am thinking of downsizing from my Toyota Tundra to a more practical vehicle and the CX-70 looks like a good fit. I love the 2-row concept, to me that was genius for those of us who want the space for gear but don't have little bodies to plant in a third row. Plus, I love driving my mom's 2016 CX-5, it's a gem. I wouldn't expect the CX-70 to be quite as nimble but hopefully not too far off.
My question is, can you custom order a Mazda or is it like Toyota where you can only search existing and incoming inventory to find something close?

We have both a 2023 CX5 Turbo and a 2025 CX70 S Premium Plus . The CX70 is definitely a larger vehicle and feels it. I think the CX70 probably weighs an extra 1000 lbs compared to the CX5. However, as far as acceleration I would put them very close if not even. Handling, the CX5 is more nimble but the CX70 for it's size is pretty darn good too. The real surprise is gas mileage, I am averaging 30 mpg in our CX70 with most of the driving being suburban. I think it could get as high as 32 mpg on the highway if you are easy on it. Originally, I ran the car with 93 octane. However, 1000 miles ago I switched to 87 and I don't see any difference.
Other than the size the biggest difference is the CX70 model I have is much more upscale and has more features. Being two years newer might help also. Complaints on the CX70 are few. The start- stop on occasion if you're making a right hand turn will jerk as the engine turns off and then turns on again. Mazda may need to do a bit of tweaking on the programming there. The cup holders in the center console are barely big enough. The console itself should have been deeper. The facial recognition system is iffy recognizing me if the car is in the sunlight and finally it is touchscreen enabled only in Apple Car Play or Google.
Overall, I'm really happy with this car. Hope this helps.

I am currently out of town and visited the Mazda dealer here. They have a bunch of CX-70s and said that they can indeed do a factory order if necessary. Whilst there I got a test drive and really liked it. It looks and feels a lot bigger then the CX-5, which is good and bad, I suppose depending on what you want. Not as nimble as a CX-5 but still good, plus quieter and smoother. One thing besides the infotainment that wasn't my favorite was the sort of high lift over in the hatchback. Much higher than my GFs Honda CRV, but then most are. And the cargo space, even without the third row of seats, sort of underwhelmed me. But I still really like the vehicle. They even had Turbo S Premium + in Soul Red with that caramel interior. Beautiful. It lacked some accessories like the towing package, which he said could be added after sale. But IDK if that is ideal considering the wiring. In any case I didn't have my Tundra with me, or I might have been sorely tempted to do a deal.
