2010 2.3 petrol awd, if i slowly squeeze the accelerator its ok, BUT if i am bit more aggressive on the accelerator , it starts surging.
no engine light , but i still put a launch X431 scan tool on it and NO errors. any ideas as to whats wrong ?

well not a lot of information on your response.... so maybe its time to do a smoke test for intake leaks?????????

BTW there is more information inside your ECU/PCU then just looking for a DTC? So do more exploring you will find something to help solve your problem. Or go pay a shop with professional grade scanners and the knowledge how to use them. Might save a lot of guessing and replacing parts that are not the problem?

IF there was a boost leak , ( intake leak) wouldnt that show up as a cel , as the map sensor not getting correct amount of boost ?

There is nothing in your posting that indicting looking at all the areas of the ECU. There is more then Check for Engine codes…
And no some intake leach may create an anomalous sensor input to the ECU which would not hard set a dash light that says check engine. If any anomalous condition is occurring the basic engine cycle may simply either clear a pending or reset the the DTC. This can be found by looking at more then just “current DTC, if you know how and have a scanning tool capable of accessing the other areas of the ECU.

ive done pending/ current live scan for confirmed, pending, permanent and enhanced codes. nothing.

in what situation would a bad sensor NOT set a cel ?

Using large letters does not get points with me helping you...
I am not here to necessarily school on how to do a diagnostic evaluation... but one example if a sensor(s) has not completely failed, poor continuity or damaged harness or connector, can give intermitted signal to the ECU which interprets it as a pending/permanent DTC and will rest the DTC every engine cycle or so. I to would then only show in a specific even counter.

The other thing is I am sure you load tested your battery before you started all your diagnostic work to ensure the battery is in good health and not bad ,failing or below specification?

thats the first thing i done, was put in a brand new battery and it tested good, USING bold and underlined fonts doesnt show what you are talking about : rolls eyes :
