Default oil in air intake

after a rebuild on a 2008 mazda cx7 2.3 turbo I had excessive oil entering the engine from the air intake, It was all up inside the air cooler. I had replaced the PCV so this came as a surprise. I pulled the PCV and inspected it, it rattled but was obviously oil saturated. The oil smoke filled the garage upon acceleration otherwise at idle seemed to be ok. there was a code 2006 stuck intake runner. I cleared this and it did not come back. No other codes. Compression check was about 145 (new rings have not seated completely) and oil pressure at 65psi spark plugs black and oily. Pulled engine and found blackness on exhaust side. dirty brown cylinders after about 30 minutes running. could be just a bad new PCV but could it be something else? I welcome your ideas while the engine is out
