CX-7 Transmission shudder
Has anyone experienced a transmission shudder, almost always going up hill and when the transmission changes to overdrive? (My car is a 2011 CX-7 2.3 Turbo six speed auto)
I initially used Lubegard instant shudder fixx but didn't fix the issue, then had a full transmission fluid change and that still didn't fix the issue. So I'm thinking the torque converter needs to be replaced. any advice would be much appreciated.

What makes you think it's the torque converter? Nothing yet posted would have me consider that YET?
Thanks for your feedback Callisto. From what I gathered they used a machine to flush out and replace the oil.
From the numerous articles I've read so far it seems the issue can occur due to anything from bad/contaminated oil right through to the gearbox itself. Obviously some articles just got way too technical for me to understand.
I'm taking it a step at a time, so starting off with the oil first. Now I didn't specifically tell the transmission specialist shop that I was experiencing the shudder thing as I was afraid they'd be recommending pulling everything apart to investigate and given the oil had never been changed I opted to take the less invasive route.

I was still wondering why you went right for the Torque converter as the problem. Nothing you posted would have me believe at this point anything is wrong with it.
I will recommend that before you continue to drive to much to contact the shop that did the transmission service and have them look at it.
If they are going to raise there hands and say it is nothing, we did.... you can pull some fluid and send it in and have it analyzed which will tell you information what is in even the clean oil if the flushing was done incorrectly

Thanks Calisto. I forgot to mention that when I put the car in manual mode (as I have one of those transmissions where you can move the shifter from automatic to manual mode) the problem goes away completely, no shudder at all and everything is smooth as butter.
Perhaps I'll just head to the transmission shop in any case.

did you solve the issue , i have exactly the same
Hi Callisto
the Auto Transmission oil never been changed , i am second owner and first never changed it and i kept it as its
i went to mechanics they say its the torque converter , ( its shuddering between 70 KM speed to 80 KM speed ) when i push more the Accelerating pedal it will gear down and shuddering will disappear , another way shift to manual and it will goes , while its in manual i got zero shuddering
i feel like its engine lugging ( i know it doesn't happen in auto trans cars but something wrong )
its very hard to send a sample to test for me i live in other country
the oil of transmission is black and smelly , people here asking me to use clean the oil using the machine
more note : the car shifting up or down is very smooth there is no kick
the car is has short ram intake , HPFP , pre gap sparks , EBCS , tuned

Well ALL automatic transmission needs at least basic fluid and filter changes. You transmission has none according to what you posted?. So in your country YES you can send a sample of oil to be analyzed.
If you went to a specialized transmission service facility and they pressure tested and run other diagnostic test (correctly) then thier assessment would be correct. If it were a random service shop then who knows how they determined the true condition of your transmission without dropping the pan and inspecting.

moreover there is something about the driveshaft not sure about it , the driveshaft doesn't look in middle of the mount as the photo , it doesn't move but not in middle there is more space on the top more than bottom
I don't know if related to my post https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/mazda-cx-7-44/idle-speed-problem-53271/
which i couldnt solve too , as per workshop manual it says ( If the accelerator pedal is depressed continuously for a specified time, the engine speed may decrease to
the idle speed. This is due to the fuel cut control operation, which prevents overheating, and it does not
indicate a malfunction )
