Default Is CX-7 built in Japan?

I like CX-7 so much. The style of CX-7 is so handsome.

Is CX-7's engine from Japan or Mexico? Is CX-7 built in Japan?

How is the rear view of CX-7?

How is FWD CX-7 in snow season compare to AWD CX-7?

Thanks.

CX-7 is built in Japan, as is the motor (although that doesn't really matter these days as far as quality)

AWD is always better in the snow than FWD

Yes, it's built in Japan; check that the VIN starts with a "J".

As for 2WD/FWD in the winter, I'm driving the 2WD CX-7 right now in Toronto! I've always found 2WD to be more than sufficient in the wintertime. My brother's Toyota 4Runner is AWD, and it fishtails when the road is slippery! Besides, the AWD CX-7 costs about $3,000 more than the 2WD, and the insurance is higher, too.

Just f.y.i., the CX-9's engine is the Ford Duratec V6! Same thing that they use in the Ford Edge. That engine is shipped to Japan, where the car is built.

You can read this article, http://www.wheels.ca/article/20060 :

"CX-9's fundamental architecture is actually a new dedicated crossover platform shared with the Oakville-built Ford Edge and Lincoln MKZ. The CX-9, however, is built in Japan. The CX-9 engine is also shared; it's the parent company's new 3.5 litre V6, fitted here with an intake system of Mazda's own specification."

That's the CX-9....different vehicle entirely (although styled very similar)

The 3.5 Duratec is a great engine.

Considering the poor quality of the CX-7 maybe it is assembled in Japan by American workers.

My CX7 motor is a Ford 2.3. I looked closely and saw Ford markings.

I just wished it was a LOT quieter!

Or maybe that it's just a myth that Japanese quality is better than American.

The 2.3L inline-4 is a Ford engine?? That's a little disconcerting; does anyone have more details about this engine?

It is a Mazda designed and build engine. Not a Ford.

If you are seeing blue ovals on your parts you may have been looking under the wrong hood..
