Question Cranks but no start

Hi,

I just borrowed a car and after 20 days, it started to crank but doesn't start. However, after trying few times, it gets started. Again, when i park my car for more than 3 to 4 hours or more, it repeats.

Can anybody tell me what can be potential cause of this?

Nish

Lack of fuel pressure. Turn the key on for 5 seconds or longer before turn it over to crank it! You should hear the pump operating.
Could be a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks for your reply.

I have one more doubt. Before I was using 87 Octane fuel and from last two weeks, i am using 93 octane fuel. So, does this can make any difference?

Not unless your car manual requires it.
Higher octane gas is mostly for hi performance, turbocharged or supercharged cars. Is yours? Sleeper?

Never been a conventional mazda built (less race wise) that would need high octane fuel.

I think, its not turbo model.

Surprisingly, technician suspects its a battery problem....lets see where it goes from here...from fuel pressure to battery and from battery to ?
