Default changing the turbo

I am slowly getting the turbo pulled off my daughters cx7, with the help of a couple of you tube videos, but have a question that I don't find addressed.
On the side of the turbo, that has the 5 studs and nuts, to the studs have to be removed, or will removing the nuts suffice? I had 2 of the studs come out, but I do not see any way to get the other studs out.
Thank you for your help with this, and I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions.

To remove a stud wind on two nuts back to back, tighten them together, put a spanner on the lower nut & wind the stud out.

Thanks. I was hoping they didn't have to come out.
There is practically zero working room for a couple of the studs.
I'll get it a try tonight.
