Default 2012 CX7 Turn signals cause both sides to flash

I haven't actually seen it, it's my daughter's car and I'm going to look at it tomorrow. Not seeing a typical flasher relay or anything, apparently it's all done by the BCM? Any advice on what to look for? I'm more mechanical than electrical, if you know what I mean

The first place I would look is the flasher. the signal runs through the flasher and if the short is internal its simply sending power to both sides.

Thanks, but the CX 7 doesn't have a typical flasher, it has a BCM (body control module) that handles this function. The one thing I noticed is that the light on the opposite side is faint compared to the direction you're actually signalling in. That's got to mean something, right?

I did electronics in the Navy years ago. If one side is weak it means that limited power is getting through, so a dirty connection or a bad solder joint or even a faulty componant on the board may be the fault. Easiest way to fix is go to the upullit yard and get another BCM and see what happens.

Solved! One of the tiny marker lights (a 168 bulb) was out. It's so small I didn't even realize it was out until I saw it at night.
