2011 cx-7
I bought a 2011 grand touring s with the 2.3. My main goal always when buying a vehicle is reliability, and I’ve heard mixed things about them, some great - some bad. It’s very clean, 96k miles on it now. I’ve put about 1,000 miles on it with no complaints. My wife really wanted this car as it’s basically hers as it’s the family vehicle for the kids. I like it but I want to make sure I’m putting myself into something reliable so long as I keep up on routine maintenance?
I have an '08 at 146,000 miles, I got it new. I am not sure if/when they changed the design, but the early models (at least 07/08) had to have a few serious TSBs done.
I have always used synthetic oil and changed it no longer than 5,000 mile intervals. I've changed the transmission fluid a few times, and had the coolant changed. Normal maintenance besides those early TSBs.
It drives great, has never had any issues, and I love it. But I have pretty much baby'd it and followed lots of forums since it was new, watching out for any potential issues and trying to keep it as clean and maintained as possible.
The '07s had a few issues, the first model year is always like that. But for me, my '08 didn't and the things that were issues my dealer fixed before the warranty expired and it's never had any problems.
