Default Maybe the alternator?

I was having a problem with the remote being able to unlock the doors on my 2011 CX-7. When I'd press the unlock button, the actuators in the doors would make a strained noise and then one or more doors would remain unlocked. This continued for a few days, and then my battery died. I had the battery replaced and the problem with the doors went away for a couple of weeks. Now it is creeping back again, and I'm wondering if my new battery is under stress, maybe due to a bad alternator?? Will O'Reilly, Auto Zone or Pep Boys test the alternator for free? Thanks for any advice!
