Hi everyone - new member to the forum. I am preparing to replace the transmission in my 2010 2.5L FWD CX7 as the original lost reverse. I purchased a parts car with a good trans which I plan to install. I am just wondering if anyone has any sort of service manual or documents to provide some guidance for this job. I am assuming it is probably easiest to drop the subframe but would appreciate any input/advice. Also wondering if there are any parts I should be ordering for this job and if it is better to replace trans fluid/filter or to leave it alone.

You can buy a one-month subscription with ALLData and get the exact service procedure.
Maybe a local independent service shop that has the annual subscripting of ALLData may download it for a small fee?
Most all aftermarket manuals like Haynes, Chilton etc. do not go into details about that service you are set to do.
A small few dealerships may print a service procedure but these are under trademark and copyright protection and really they are not suppose to but sometimes you may find one that may.

 

Hey Callisto, sorry - I meant to get back to you sooner. I took your advice and bought the 1 month Alldata subscription and was able to print all of the information I needed. I got my transmission changed and have been driving the car since with no issues! Just wanted to say thanks for your help.
