Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2009 CX-7 with 114k miles on it but after driving it for just a short time, apparently the block has a crack and the 3rd cylinder is shot. I've seen different used engines for sale but I'm confused about engine compatibility. The VIN is VIN L (8th digit) and I've seen more VIN 3 (8th digit) available than anything else.

Can I use the VIN 3 (8th digit) engines or do I have to stick with the VIN L (8th digit) ones?
