Default Wireless CarPlay Dongle

Hello fellow CX-5 owners,
I recently purchased a 2021 cx5 and noticed that it doesn’t have wireless CarPlay so I was wondering what dongle do you use for wireless CarPlay experience? What has worked for you or which do you recommend?

Cool

Several folks have purchased adapters from different sellers, and many were not very reliable. Some worked for awhile then quit, some disabled the screen, some never worked at all. Upper CX-5 trims in Canada have wireless CarPlay in 2021, but only with the old, smaller screen.

From what I read is that people have mixed results with the wireless CarPlay. I would stick to the wired factory version. Just my two cents.

I used one of the two in the center console. I believe it's the top one.

I use the wired connection right now and I'm just looking for option of wireless since it seems to work for other vehicles. Not having to worry about wires or cables is less headache in my opinion. I might even replace the 10.25 infotainment system with the old 9 inch if its possible.

Do you connect a wire between your phone and the connector in the center console? This thread is about wireless...

My phone (with Apple CarPlay) is connected to my CX-5 using a USB/lightning cable. That means it's not a wireless connection.

That's my point. Did you happen to notice the thread title?

With that in mind, has anyone tried flashing their US infotainment system firmware and reinstalling the canada firmware update?

I had been planning to use a wireless dongle when it became available for AA, but after really thinking about it, what is the advantage without wireless charging? I don't have a phone with wireless charging capability anyway so I would have to hook up a cord on longer drives. I could see an advantage if I made short in town trips.
