Hi! New CX-5 owner here. What is this thing? (in the picture between my 2 key fobs) My salesman told me it was the dealer's key kiosk and I could throw it out, but I still don't understand what it is and what it does, or what it did for the dealer.
Something to do with my key fob? Just got the dark blue with parchment interior Grand Touring. Traded in my 2012 Corvette!
I've never seen anything like that. Can you show us what the metal end looks like inside? That's not the "key" for the locking lug nuts, is it? Probably not with those plastic parts, just grasping at straws here.
"My salesman told me it was the dealer's key kiosk and I could throw it out"
This makes no sense to me. If it's the dealer's key kiosk why give it to you?
ok, I think it's an I.Button !! I took closeup pics of the round bottom and it has I.Button.com engraved on it. Apparently these things are used for inventory control, and I guess it is used to access the keyfobs.
