First Diesel, then Petrol cars will be out-dated technology soon.
I predict that will change if we get smart and start growing micro algae for fuel instead of using dirty fossil fuels.
Meh, I am much more in favor of dropping the whole electric car thing in favor of something which will be arguably more efficient, and which can utilize our existing infrastructure.
Hi, new here and this is my first post. I just went and bought the cx-5 with the diesel. I am a diesel enthusiast I guess you could say. I grew up on a ranch and still farm and ranch so everything has always been diesel. My parents had a Passat tdi and now have a q7 tdi. Just always been around them. Anyways, I love this car. Car looks amazing inside and out. It has a diesel. I just love it. Wish the engine wasn’t handcuffed, but I still like it. I didn’t really look at what you could actually get into a gasser version of the signature trim but I would bet I paid the same price for the diesel as a gasser would cost. As mentioned above most people don’t see the point of buying diesel and I know the dealership had it for along time and they just wanted out from under it. From what I can tell there are more out there in the same situation. Just thought I would share. 2.2 skyactiv-D
just to add the diesel 2.2l Mazda engines have a huge issue with injector leaks, which leads to fuel and oil mixing inside the head and wearing out camshafts leading to engine failure. I strongly urge anyone to stay away from diesel Mazda’s as you will soon find out with the massive recall about to come out for all diesel powered Mazda’s.

funny you should mention testing. a lemon, is a car w/problems that is unintentional. AN ABORTION, is a car that was built intentionally ! i had purchased a VW that was a VW from the outside. from the inside was anything but ! they explained to me that the car should NEVER have been sent to the USA ! but it was, and i was the winner of the abortion experiment lottery ! they didn't care, and wouldn't replace it. the car was junked 11 months later.

So you drove an eleven month old car to a junk yard? Why do I not believe you?
actually you can believe whatever you want. what else would you do with a car that virtually nothing could be replaced without the help of the manufacturer.
wheel cylinders froze up w/no replacements, solenoid/starter w/no replace, entire electrical system wired completely different from the norm, twelve volt start, that does not return to 6 volts after starting, but shoots to 15.5 volts (thru the points, to burn them out) when you step on the gas. engine/ transaxle utterly irreplaceable. i was able to get transaxle fixed by germany when (at different times 1st and reverse gear went out) i can't remember off hand what else plaged me but you get the picture. i was told by another VW dealer after he accused me of changing parts on the car, when i told him it was bought NEW ! he then asked me for the VIN # and for parts numbers on specific parts on the car. two weeks later he called and told me, "the car was an experimental unit that should have never been shipped out of Germany" (to test parts for a few years to make the unit cheaper) no, under no circumstances would they replace it.
nothing they told me was ever put in writing. (the original dealer went out of business shortly after i bought the car) as Ripley states "believe it or not" but as i have learned during my years, truth is stranger than fiction !

Nope, sorry, not believing your story. If something was even remotely true, you would have had numerous avenues available for satisfaction, driving the car to the junk yard is a non-option.
