I have a 2014 CX-5, after I shut off the ignition and open the door the dashboard sounds a double ping with no specific warning light. This does not allow me to lock the vehicle. I’ve had to restart the vehicle, shift the car into drive and back to park to shut down successfully. Sometimes it takes more than one attempt. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Very common problem on older CX-5s. More than likely you need a new Park position switch.

This link is from Australia, which have RHD vehicles, no idea if LHD vehicles have a different part number.

Finally got around to replacing the park position switch. Easy fix. Hardest part was disconnecting the electrical harness. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
