Default Very minor transmission rumble felt

I have a 2023 CX-5 GT. When I slow to a crawl and then lightly get back lightly on the accelerator I feel a very slight rumble. Maybe more noticeable when I am taking a turn but it happen without turning. I am assuming it comes from tranny but it could be torque converter.

I had a friend in the car who owns a 2021 CX-5. I had never even mentioned the rumble to him. He noticed it and was happy because his does the same thing. He felt relieved that it may be normal.

The rumble is there but it is very slight. I suspect 90% of drivers would not even notice it. Is this rumble typical on a CX-5???

lol it’s not the torque converter.

Your description needs to have a very experienced auto tech go for a drive with you

It's still under warranty so take it to a Mazda dealer for an assessment. Don't be surprised if they charge you a fee to do the assessment but if it's a warranty issue you get it back if not that's business.

I agree but I really do not like interacting with the Mazda Dealer. Unless I go there with a clear per-determined fault they are going to charge me a fortune tracking the issue down. The dealer pricing for routine Mtce is simply crazy. I just do not feel comfortable with them. I do not find the people at the service desk act like they are working for me. My one dealing with Mazda Canada of variations in my paint was not good at all.

The rumble has existed since new. It is subtle. My wife is good at picking up on things and she has never noticed it. The fact that friend claims his CX-5 does the same give me some comfort.

My bumper to bumper warranty is about to end. I am bringing it to my indi mechanic for oil change and an look over before warranty expires. I will have him drive and see if he picks upon the rumble.

I posted this question kind of hoping other CX-5 owners experienced the same rumble.

Owner of vehicles often tend to notice small annoyances, in the case of the word use "rumble" while it is subjective it's still something that should be looked into regardless of the consensus of the crowd owning the same model vehicle or not. Especially with your warranty about to lapse. Not sure an average independent service shop is going to find the cause with a quick look over and will likely charge you at least an hour basic diagnosis. This cannot be used in the case if you do have a issue later after the warranty period. If fact it would likely be a reason for a denial. I strongly suggest put your feelings aside about your dealership[p and go talk to the service department and get this concern on your VIN record. It may help in the event your transmission *fall out from under the Mazda (*joke) in the near future of up to a few months after your warrnty lapsed?

Would that repair to differential be considered "drive train"? Reason I am asking is my 3 year warranty is about to run out in just a few days. But I still have drive train warranty for 2 more years.

I would think so but you best contact Mazda. I think I remember ttforcefed's post about the diff failure.
