Hello I have a 2021 CX-5 and looking to upgrade the reverse and license plate LED"s, but unlike my older vehicles these don't seem to be accessible. Is it possible to upgrade the existing LED's to a brighter bulb? Can't figure it out. Thanks!

 

You can not upgrade the OEM units. You would would have to find a company that made an upgraded unit you could swap out for the original part. You aren't happy with the OEM LED lights? They are plenty bright to me. Now the interior lights and turn signals? Had to upgrade those. To me the '22 appears to have done exactly what I did with my '21. The LED turn signals front and rear are in the same place as in '17-'21, but have LED bulbs instead.

 

Pretty happy with the LED lights on our 2018 CX-5 but would like to update the license plate lights which seem to be halogen not LED.

 

That should be an easy upgrade. I have put leds in several cars for the license plate.

 

agreed that it is easy to swap out incandescent bulbs in the license plate area. I have.been doing this very upgrade for years.
