Unsafe at any speed
I guess the OP could have an issue with his particular car? I bought a new RDX in 2016. My wife got in after I had been driving the car and didn't know the parking brake was set. She drove home on the highway and the parking brake was completely ruined - no warnings whatsoever. Dealer figured out the connector had never been attached from the factory. All repairs were done under warranty.
I would go in and have your CX-5 looked at to see if all is well. There is another thread a couple below this one about a new CX-5 stalling out. They ended up with a new car.

1) How do you proof on a video that the brake lights are not coming on when the adaptive cruise control is braking? I mean, how do you know (other than by lighting up the brake lights) the cruise control is activating the brakes?
3) I have i-stop and the brake lights come on when the adaptive cruise control brakes. But when i-stop becomes active, the cruise control in my manual CX-5 is already automatically disabled due to the low speed.

Seems everyone in this discussion reports the brake lights do illuminate when activated in cruise. The claim was the cx-5 is "unsafe at any speed", not "my car might be broken". That claim is false.
Agreed.
The only way to prove something like this claim to a forum would be recording it from a following car. Set cruise in the 2024, approach a car that tis traveling much slower, record the brakes not illuminating from the follow car. Simple stuff and would only take a few minutes.
Using this feature, If your brake lights do not work in stop and go traffic, have the dealer look into it
