Tsc system
wtf is tsc? unless you meant tcs(traction control system) which has NOTHING to do with stopping. and that idiot in the youtube has no idea on how the brake system works. what do you think would happen if the road was solid ice? no brake assist or abs system works on ice, or where all 4 wheels are having traction problems. so if you think that on a dirt road, the car is going to stop like it was on a clean asphalt road with great traction, dream on.
The subject of the video is the SCBS (Smart City Brake System) which applies the brakes when it detects an object in front of the car to avoid low speed collisions, It appears he's trying to demonstrate its effectiveness (?) or its intermittent performance???
it doesnt matter. it is integrated with the abs. which is going to not allow the wheel(s) to lock up. if it senses an object and tries to apply the brakes, but cant apply a lot of brake or the wheels will lock up. if the test is done on dry pavement, the vehicle will stop before striking the boxes. the dummy in the video thinks the system will stop the car the same as if it were on dry pavement. look at this video, on dry pavement:
if the surface in the video was gravel or dirt, or ice, the car would have hit the fence.
if the surface in the video was gravel or dirt, or ice, the car would have hit the fence.
