TSB re 2021 Mazdas
Not trying to scare you at all. Just been keeping up with this since I heard about it and it certainly seems to be a pretty big deal if diagnosed. We also don't know the long term effects of this problem on the longevity of the engine after it is repaired. Are other parts (like the cats) going to be problematic over time? Lots of unknowns. It is a lottery whether, or not your car will have the issue as well.
Dude where do get your knowledge from?? There are so many things to confirm the heath of an engine. This is not the stone age working on engines. LOL
Stick to the facts and what can be done in this current time we live in with all kinds of diagnostic equipment that YES can check for any condition of the engine after a service and replacement of any part is done.
Face it you got caught showing what kind of a human you are. Passing what you fear to another human. In this case a complete vehicle if you think it may have issue. Really?? nice going bud! LOL
So put in a call to my local dealer, no call back, but they’re busy, and having met them, I can handle that.
Spoke to a couple of people at Mazda USA customer relations (5500 number in Florida) .Again nice people, but knew nothing about the tsb, so I forwarded the whole thing. The agent put me on hold to speak to a supervisor presumably. She came back and told me I had no business being on possession of the document and that it was only for the eyes of Mazda USA and their dealers. She was much nicer than that sounds and was only repeating what she had been told.
I now have a case number assigned and expect (maybe) a call back in a day or two. I asked her to alert whoever calls me back that I won’t be expecting a lecture.
My m.o. here is not to demand an instant fix, after all who wants to be the canary in the coal mine here, I’d rather the techs warm up on someone’s else’s vehicle. I simply what to understand what the process is.
Sit tight and wait ?
Keep calling the dealer ?
Is all I want to know.

As to your questions, I would wait as you have already been into your dealer, had the low oil light verified and received an oil change as a result so you are obviously consuming oil. Next step would be the repair based on what the TSB states. Certainly keep asking the dealer if a TSB is being performed yet as it obviously has been given an official number: 01-011/22 and the linked full TSB published on Mazda3Revolutions web site shows the original TSB was published a year before (10/4/21) so Mazda has been fast at work on a solution for quite a while now.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the internet! You can find most anything even things that you are not necessarily suppose to find.
TSB were and still NOT for the general public. More often than not they are not understood and there can be many revision to them along the way. If I still had my access account number, I could re-write that whole TSB mentioned in this thread and easily make it read more technical making most disregard it that are not a DEALERSHIP and service-related employee.
The word is REVISION. TSBs are often revised, or some simply found inaccurate. When a service writer enters warranty service information, they will often use the TSB # for supportive information on any warranty work.
Thats why you need to read everything and not assume things. That TSB clearly states. DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may
and also we read... This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s)

It's pretty hilarious Mazda would think they can control information like this in today's world. Things get out and spread like wildfire. As if Mazda isn't aware consumers have been talking about this issue on forums all over the internet for months.... What a joke.

ROLMAO.... your responses on this forum keep getting more desperate .

That is not how TSB work at all .. LOL
I'm emailing back and forth with Mazda Customer Experience over the TSB's statement: "If the customer has already paid the cost for topping off the engine oil outside of the dealer, claim for reimbursement entering the actual cost with the sublet code "Z9".
The dealer seemed clueless to any possibility of reimbursement and Mazda is telling me it's usually their decision. They have agreed to ask for details.
My wife took a picture of the light, I have the receipt for the quart of 5w-30 that we used 19 ounces out of, and I've got a picture of dipstick before and after top off. It's the principle of honest vs dishonest. It's not the $10. I doubt our car will go back to that dealer.
edit: This all started when I noticed that the dealer had recorded "LOW OIL" on the service record. I informed them that the oil LEVEL was never below MIN. In fact, it was 1/3 between MIN-MAX when light came on. The system's oil sensor indicate low pressure. 2 different things IMO. I check the wife's car before every start.

I get tired of correcting people that do not understand how a privately owned business like dealerships works..... Please look into a staring your own dealership of any make platform and read the contract and then you would understand why your responses last and what your dealership is doing for you is in line with their business. Its not MAZDA it is an authorized and licensed to sell MAZDA vehicle's under their contract. Part of which stipulate that some item will not be reimbursed to them if they decide upon themselves to do unauthorized warranty service. Even the reimbursement of a quart of oil!!!
Again Thanks!
