Normally the wrench symbol means maintenance required (oil change).
In most CX-5 vehicles you can change the language setting.

SELECT THE APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE:
- Select SETTINGS from the Home screen.
- Select SYSTEM tab.
- Select LANGUAGE, press appropriate language choice.

That took longer than I thought it would 
I hate smart phones. My wife has one but the only one I have is just for my music files everything else is deleted, can't even use it as a phone.
15 years on being on call 24/7 will do that do you...or at least it did me.
