Default Transfer case overfilled

I recently purchased a 2018 CX5 touring from my son’s used car dealership. He picked it up at auction so we don’t have much history other than car fax. He brought it to a private service center to have it checked over and serviced. They noticed that the seal for the front, passenger side axle was leaking so they replaced it and serviced the transmission. I purchased it a bit later.
instantly I noticed a small puddle of oil on the floor where I parked. So I parked over my pit to investigate. I found the seal they replaced to be leaking. When I checked the level a small amount of oil ran out. The service shop warranted their work and did the seal again.
now there’s a bigger puddle. And it’s again leaking from that seal. But this time the service center advised me to check the transfer case oil at operating temperature. So I did and a few ounces bursted out of the level hole. Yes, I did know better but I’m a boat mechanic that doesn’t find joy in auto repair.
My question is can transmission fluid be forced into the transfer case on this model? The fluid that leaks out appears to be clear with a slight brown tint.
Im going to let it sit over my pit for the night and re-check the level tomorrow. If it’s good, I’ll take it for a drive and see if it makes more oil. TIA
