Tire pressure and TCS
The TCS warning light and beeps went on on my '17 CX-5 Touring. I checked the tires and the right front was at 20# so I put air in that one. The video on My Mazda says you're supposed to initialize the TPMS after putting air in the tires by pressing the TPMS set switch until the warning light beeps twice. I don't have a set switch, just a TCS Off button, so I pressed and held that. It didn't cause the warning light to beep or go off. After driving a short distance, the light went off. But now I don't know if I've turned TCS off, which I don't want, or if it reset because I held the button. There's little info in the manual about this that I can find. Does anyone know more? I'm concerned the right front tire was so low for no reason and it reacted oddly to air - going way up on the gauge with a little air added, then way below 30 when I let a little out. Finally got it about where the other 3 tires were but have no idea if it's holding, if there's a problem with the valve or what.
Thanks. Yes I realized after thinking about it that TCS was traction control. The TPMS light did go out right away after I started driving so I guess I didn't need to initialize it since I don't have a TPMS set switch. If someone finds one on the Touring let me know..
